Truman Lake Boating, Fishing & Hunting
As the northern gateway to Truman Lake, the state's second-largest lake, Clinton, Missouri each year attracts thousands of visitors with its natural beauty and recreation options, from hiking to boating to fishing to hunting.
Truman Lake covers 56,000 acres and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Nearby public use areas include Sparrowfoot and Bucksaw, both of which include a boat launch, campground, beach, dock and playground. Bucksaw also has a marina. Cooper Creek Off-Road Vehicle Area south of town boasts 400 acres for dirt bikes, ATV's and dune buggies.
In 2010 Clinton, Missouri hosted the Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters National Championship on Truman Lake. Nearly 500 pro anglers fished the event, hailing from 21 states around the country. The best part? They enjoyed their time in Clinton and on Truman Lake so much that they want to come back!
