Operating under the belief that cars are meant to be driven, Cruise Nights are planned to draw car enthusiasts to downtown Clinton. Cruise Nights are held on the second Saturday night, May-June, August-September, and this year we have added a daytime Cruise in October. Special activities are planned for each month such as an outdoor movie and “Push Drag Races.”
New activities added for this year are the Clinton Technical School--Skills USA Auction. The SkillsUSA student organization includes Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Computer Information Systems, Health Occupations, Machine Tool Technology, and Welding. The auction proceeds will be used to defray the expense for students to attend district, state, and national contests.
The Auction will feature a small block Chevy built by students, items built by machine tool students, gift certificates, sporting tickets, race tickets, automotive accessories and more! In June, we will have a Hamburger Grilling Contest, less time than BBQ Contest, and still lots of great food. Plan to cook your favorite burger--you might win some cash! Details will follow soon.
We have had lots of requests to return the Cruise to Warsaw, so we will be doing that in October. Thanks to Champion Brands for sponsoring and we will get details out just as soon as possible.
Downtown Clinton is nice drive from where you are. You don’t have to fight the traffic and you can come just as you are! It doesn’t matter if you are an everyday driver, own a collector car, motorcycle or antique tractor, you are welcome at Clinton Cruise Nights!
This is not a car show—just an evening of fun for all families, young and old. Visit with your friends and neighbors, and meet new people that share your interests while relaxing on the largest Square in the state of Missouri. Downtown Clinton is not just an asphalt parking lot. The Downtown Clinton Historic Square is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s a great place to be and there are plenty of shade trees and a large lawn to set up your lawn chair.
You will enjoy listening to the local radio DJ playing classic rock ‘n roll. The restaurants are open and within walking distance—even a frozen custard shop just off the Square.
You don’t have to own a show car to participate! Any car that you want to share is the right one to bring. And if you don’t have a car to show, come anyway. Spectators are always welcome!
